Striped Rocking Chair Upcycle

A charming vintage rocking chair given new life with Porcelain white paint and soft pink Devon Stripe upholstery by Ian Mankin.

This project was all about freshening up a classic piece with a soft, modern touch. The vintage wooden rocking chair was completely upcycled for a returning customer, starting with a full repaint using Rust-Oleum’s washable furniture paint in the elegant shade ‘Porcelain.’

To complement the clean, chalky white frame, we upholstered the cushions in Devon Stripe by Ian Mankin — a gorgeous pink and off-white stripe fabric that brings warmth and charm without overwhelming the design. The final result is a light, bright, and beautifully balanced piece that would look at home in a nursery, reading nook, or country cottage.
